Click on the appropriate icon to display trade information for the animal or plant group selected.

Select from the drop-down lists below to determine the type of trade data shown. Trade terms vary depending on the taxonomic group selected, so it is best to start by selecting a taxonomic group from above.

As 'Trade by source' or 'Top 5 terms in trade' provide an overview of multiple sources and trade terms, the option to select the source and trade term, respectively, will not appear when these buttons are selected below.

If the trade term does not include a unit of measurement (e.g. kg), the trade represents 'number' of that term (e.g. number of live animals). For a full list of CITES term codes and their definitions, see the Guidelines for the preparation and submission of CITES annual reports distributed by the Secretariat with Notification to the Parties 2006/030.

For a full list of CITES source codes and their definitions, see Resolution Conf. 12.3 (Rev. CoP16) on Permits and certificates.

Clicking on the corresponding button allows you to change the way the data are displayed in the main viewing pane to the left.

Shows the trade over time, as reported by both importers and exporters, for the parameters selected.

Shows the trade over time for the parameters selected. Trade reported by both the country selected and the trading partners is shown. Click on the 'Imports' and 'Exports' tab to switch between imports and exports.

Source indicates where the species originated (e.g. wild, captive-bred, etc.). The letters in parentheses ('W', 'C', etc.) are the CITES source codes. For a full list of CITES source codes and their definitions, see Resolution Conf. 12.3 (Rev. CoP16) on Permits and certificates.

For a full list of CITES term codes and their definitions, see the Guidelines for the preparation and submission of CITES annual reports distributed by the Secretariat with Notification to the Parties 2006/030.

Provides a break-down of the CITES Appendices for the wildlife parts and derivatives in trade.

Provides a list of the top ten species in trade

Provides a list of the top ten Families in trade

As the rest of the dashboard only shows direct trade, this selection shows the quantities of animals and plants re-exported to and from the country selected. Top trading partners of re-exported wildlife to and from the country selected are also shown.

Provides an overview of species that occur in the country selected. Distribution information is based on information contained in the UNEP-WCMC database.

This facility was developed and is maintained by UNEP-WCMC for the CITES Secretariat.
